The Bedales Memorial Library, Steep UK, designed by Ernest Gimson, is regarded to be one of the finest Arts & Crafts buildings in UK.

The library was completed in 1921; built as a memorial to the students who died in the First World War. The Traditional English timber frame craftsman techniques used inside a brick exterior create a space which resembles a long Elizabethan tithe barn with an upper gallery.

Bedales School was established in 1893 as an “alternative” school, one of the first co-educational boarding schools in England.”
